<A House Where Three Generations Live Together> A detached-house project in Dunchon-dong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul — a single house where three generations live together. Reflecting each generation's way of life, the parents' generation was planned as a single storey and the children's generation as two storeys. We studied how to make appropriate use of the narrow site; while it meets the legal conditions of a multi-household house, it was planned as a detached house. The most important consideration was a courtyard that protects each generation's privacy while, at times, becoming a space for appropriate communication. Because of it, the home feels like two houses yet is not two houses — a single house we called "the house where three generations live together."
