Lee Yang-jI's Kitchen School Lee Yang-jI's Kitchen School is a space designed to create a sense of calm and stability, where architecture and nature come together naturally. The red-brick building blends gently into its surroundings, while its courtyard-centered layout creates a distinctive relationship between the interior and the landscape. The irregular form of the building was conceived to bring natural light deep into each space, allowing light and nature to become an integral part of the architecture. The façade is composed of three concept kitchens, curved walls, four columns that define the curved walls, and three gabled roofs extending from these structural elements. Together, these elements create a distinctive architectural character and a sense of curiosity throughout the building. The main entrance is approached through the courtyard, while an exterior staircase provides access to the second floor. The staircase separates the courtyard from the surrounding exterior while creating a gradual transition between the two. At the heart of the building, the courtyard becomes more than an open space. It blurs the boundary between inside and outside and provides the Kitchen School with its most distinctive spatial experience—an intimate place where architecture, nature, light, and everyday life come together.
