A project remodeling a space of about 3 pyeong beneath the stairwell of a shop-house into an architect's studio. Turning the building owner's former take-out coffee shop into an architect's studio began with an understanding of the space beneath the stairwell. Within the varied volumes of space — from a minimum ceiling height of 500 mm to a maximum of 3,100 mm — the necessary furniture and shelving were fabricated to resolve storage. In the one-person office, the part with the minimum ceiling height was used as a storeroom, and a one-person desk was placed in the remaining part. To store as many of the books, models, and other design supplies needed for architecture as possible, the walls and leftover spaces were used to the fullest, and when fabricating the furniture and sink, they were custom-planned so that the furniture could fit into the sink unit.
