Uiseong Bonatree

Bonacom Uiseong Community Bonacom is a community that has long explored a way of living that cares for both nature and people. Since 1998, the community has practiced chemical-free farming and natural poultry farming, seeking a way for nature, people, and all living things to coexist. The Uiseong Community continues this philosophy by planting trees and nurturing forests to create a new place for living. In Deokji-ri, Uiseong, the community has leased approximately 45,000 pyeong of mountainous land on a long-term basis. Over the years, 15,000 helms trees and 1,000 blueberry trees have been planted, while the mountain is carefully maintained throughout the seasons. Trees need many years before they bear their first fruit. Just as a single drop of honey requires countless movements of a bee's wings, a forest cannot be created overnight. Bonacom plants trees today while looking far into the future. It dreams of a place where trees grow into forests, paths emerge among them, and people can walk, encounter nature, and pause for a moment of rest. The community hopes this place will create new possibilities for rural life, providing a foundation where young people can return to the countryside, become self-reliant, and discover alternative ways of living. It also hopes that this way of living alongside nature will spread beyond rural communities and reach people in other parts of the world. A place where trees gradually become a forest, and simply walking along its paths allows people to look up at the sky and reflect upon themselves. A place where anyone in need of rest and renewal can freely walk, stay, and experience the life of nature.
