It is a long, narrow site within a district-unit-plan zone, with a 4 m road to the north and adjacent lots to the east, west, and south. A 2.5 m shared exterior open space had to be secured from the southern boundary line; given the site's nature of receiving sunlight-rights conditions from the south, the building was positioned as far north as possible while securing the most open space to the south. The basement was designed in concrete structure and the first floor and above in light-frame timber structure; floor-by-floor separation and a Skip Floor structure were applied together to achieve separation between units. The first-floor rental unit, which secured a 4 m floor height, was given level differences between the living room and each room through the Skip Floor structure, while the second-floor owner's unit secured a sense of openness through the connection between the second floor and the loft.
